MARIETTA, Ohio — Throughout the coming weeks, the Marietta College athletics department will be profiling our spring sports senior student-athletes who had their senior seasons cut short due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. Our next senior is Jim Kovatch (Lancaster, Ohio/Fairfield Union) from the track and field team. A four-year member of the program, Jim has been one of the top pole vaulters in the Ohio Athletic Conference his entire career and currently holds the MC Indoor and Outdoor records for pole vault. Jim will be a three-time Academic All-OAC honoree and won several academic awards at MC including the Roger Patterson and Bob Brucken Leadership Awards and the Ruud Community Service Award.
